What is Embroidery?

Machine Embroidery is a process whereby several threads are used to create patterns on textiles. It can be used commercially in product branding, corporate advertising, and uniform adornment. Here at Supply Line Solutions we can also embroider onto other garments and apparel.

Embroidery has a longer life than print and is highly durable. With a distinguished look and feel it can be applied to almost any garment. We have a large thread colour choice and a logo matching service where complex designs and layers are achievable.

Controlled by a computer that embroiders stored patterns/designs. Supply Line Solutions embroidery machines have multiple heads and threads.

Our custom clothing core allows us to offer all types of garment decoration, but custom embroidery is better suited to corporate clothing and embroidered workwear as it is more durable and portrays a higher level of quality for your company or brand. So why should you choose Embroidery:

  • Longer life and highly durable
  • Distinguished look and feel
  • Large thread colour choice and logo matching service
  • Can be applied to almost any garment
  • Complex designs and layers are achievable

We use logo embroidery on a multitude of garments ranging from embroidered t-shirts, embroidered polo-shirts, embroidered sweatshirts, embroidered hoodies and embroidered caps/beanies and more.

What Vinyl cut printing?

A vinyl cutter is a computer-controlled machine. Like a printer the computer controls the movement of a sharp blade over the surface of the material. This blade is used to cut out shapes and letters from sheets of thin self-adhesive plastic (vinyl). The vinyl can then be stuck to a variety of surfaces depending on the adhesive and type of material.

To cut out a design an image must be created in a software program. It is then sent to the cutter where it cuts along the paths laid out in the design. The cutter is capable of moving the blade on an X and Y axis over the material, cutting it into any shape imaginable.

The one major limitation with vinyl cutters is that they can only cut shapes from solid colours of vinyl, therefore a design with multiple colours must have each colour cut separately and then layered on top of each other as they applied. Also, since the shapes are cut out of solid colours, photographs and gradients cannot be reproduced. Supply Line Solutions can however, provide a transfer solution to this problem which means that full colour logos and photographs can be installed on your chosen garment. So when should Vinyl Cut Printing be used:

  • Individual Names and Numbers (example: School Sweatshirts)
  • Perfect for single colour designs and can be produced in low or high numbers.
  • One-off samples for client meetings or press events
  • Multicoloured transfer logos/photographs that need to look bright and bold
  • Nylon

In addition to the capabilities of the cutter, the adhesive vinyl comes in a wide variety of colours and materials including gold and silver foil. The vinyl is heat pressed onto the garment/apparel.
